Children in Safe Hands at After School and Holiday Clubs

Bolton School offers two options for wraparound and holiday care for its pupils and those in local schools. Kidzone, now in its 21^st year, caters for the School pupils up to the age of 11 in pre- and after-school clubs during term time and to the same children and the wider community during school holiday periods. BSS Leisure provides classes and clubs during school holiday periods. Both are Ofsted registered with Designated Safeguarding Leads and deputies who are ever-present when camps are in progress. 

Mrs Highton, whose children regularly attend the holiday sessions, enthused: ‘The team looked after my two incredibly well. One child has some additional needs - the team took the time to discuss with me and understand his needs. They remembered him well from the previous holiday camp and were able to allocate a familiar staff member and a little extra supervision. As a result, it was a very positive experience.’ 

Mrs Basnett, whose boy attends the same clubs, concurred, saying: ‘Oliver has been coming to BSS Leisure now for nearly four years and enjoys every bit of it. The staff have all the kids’ interest at heart and keep them fully active for the whole day. They create a good rapport and the different activities that they supply over the holidays are outstanding. I have never known a holiday club that offers so much. And the value for money is fantastic - every term has a varied schedule so the kids are never bored. Over the years I have seen the club go from strength to strength with what they offer. Oliver has been to Delamere Forest several times for an outdoor camp; he always feel safe with all members of the team.’ 

There was high praise for the summer camps from Mrs Highton too: ‘My children attended sports and outdoor activity camps; both were incredibly well organised with a variety of activities. The highlights were swimming and a day trip to Delamere Forrest. The club is excellent value for money, especially as it includes a hot meal each day. As a parent, I have full confidence in the team.” 

Some parents make use of whole-day care during holiday periods with their children attending both Kidzone and BSS Leisure holiday camps and are escorted by staff between the two. Mrs Basnett told how her son really enjoys himself: ‘When asked if he wants to have days off from the holiday club and spend time with his parents, Oliver says “no”. The fact he always wants to attend, I think says it all in terms of how amazing the whole team is. I always speak highly of the club and couldn't recommend it enough.'
