Bolton School have had success in the netball Town Tournaments, winning both the Under 13 and Under 14 tournaments in their respective age groups.
The Under 14s had a great tournament: after playing incredibly well throughout the group games, conceding only one goal and scoring over 60 total, the team progressed into the semi-finals as group winners. In the semi-finals against Turton the girls continued their winning form, making it through to the final to play Canon Slade. This was a repeat of last year’s final, a great game played by both sides that finished with a 6-5 win for Bolton.
Ms Farrimond-Goff said, ‘It was a very nerve-wracking game and I’m delighted for the girls, they have had a great season and it was a fantastic way to finish it off.’
The Under 13 team started their tournament very well, winning four out of five group games, losing only narrowly to Turton, and putting them through to the semi-finals. A comfortable semi-final win saw them face Turton again in the final. It was another repeat of 2022’s final: then the team lost by one goal! This year’s final was a very close match that required the girls to work hard right up to the final whistle, with a final score of 4-3 to Bolton.
Ms Farrimond-Goff said, ‘The team was delighted to win and really deserved it due to their resilience and determination. They are great team with lots to look forward to next season.’
