Last week was all about Road Safety at Bolton School Nursery. The Toddlers focused on ‘Road Safety Heroes’: they explored the different emergency services by dressing up in fire-fighter, paramedic, police officer, nurse and doctor outfits during circle times. The Nursery staff also spoke with the children about the roles that the emergency services play in our society.
Nursery Nurse Michelle Shields, who works with the Toddlers, said: ‘We think it is important at Bolton School Nursery that our children begin to learn at a young age about the emergency services, what they are there for and how they can help us.’
Road Safety is incorporated into the Toddlers’ weekly trips to the nature area, by talking about the traffic on the roads, looking at the road signs and learning to Stop, Look and Listen whilst using the zebra crossing.
