As the summer Term drew to a close, parents and teachers joined the whole of Year 7 and Year 8 in a celebration of the academic year at Bolton School Girls’ Division.
The evening was divided into two sections. Firstly, Year 7 pupils received awards and prizes and there were speeches from each Form, focusing on a range of activities including sport, music, charity, trips abroad and extra-curricular clubs and activities. The Lower School Choir offered up a stunning version of ‘I’ll be There’ before the whole of Year 7 sang ‘Rule the World’.
Then it was the turn of Year 8 pupils. They began their celebration with talented actors re-enacting two scenes from school plays that had run during the year. Again, representatives from each Form spoke about specific themes: charity, extra-curricular activities, academia, achievements, trips and visits and sporting achievements. After the awards were made and the Lower School Choir had performed again, the year group closed out the evening by singing a rousing version of BTS’ Permission to Dance.
