Bolton School’s community came together to help others this Harvest season. Families across the Primary Division and Girls’ Division brought in donations of food and toiletries for the schools’ Harvest collections, in support of local charity Urban Outreach.
Assemblies in the Girls’ Division, Junior Boys’ School, Junior Girls’ School and Infant School shared the important Harvest message of the power and impact of sharing. The Girls’ Division collected 37 trays of food for Urban Outreach, which were displayed across the stage during the assembly. At Hesketh House, the Junior Girls’ Charity Reps led the assembly and explained to everyone that ‘we reap what we sow’. At the Infant School, the Beech House Choir performed on stage and everyone from Year 2 down to the Pre-School children joined in with singing and signing a selection of Harvest songs, including their favourite: ‘Big Red Combine Harvester’!
Dave Bagley from Urban Outreach attended the Primary Division assemblies to thank the children and their families for all the generous donations. The food and toiletries given to the charity will help to support the most vulnerable people in Bolton.
