The Governors of Bolton School have announced that the Headmistress, Miss Sue Hincks, has decided to resign with effect from 31st August 2021 for family reasons.
Miss Hincks has been Headmistress during a period of unparalleled success for the Girls’ Division.
She would like to thank all her colleagues for their support and dedication over the past ten years and wishes the pupils, staff, parents and Governors within the Bolton School Foundation every future success and happiness. It has been an honour and a privilege for her to serve the School for the past ten years.
For the next academic year they are delighted that Lynne Kyle, who has served under four Heads of Girls’ Division, the last two as Deputy, will act as Headmistress bringing, along with the rest of the senior leadership team, a strong sense of continuity as well as expertise and vision to maintain the success of the school.
Philip Britton, the Head of Boys’ Division, will support the leadership of Beech House, Hesketh House and the Nursery during this period of transition.
The Governors will soon begin the process of recruiting a successor to Sue Hincks.
We wish Sue well, both now and for the future. Many Old Girls and members of the School community will no doubt have fond memories of Sue’s time at Bolton School: should you wish to share a tribute or message of thanks to Sue, for publication on the School website later this month, these can be submitted using the form here. If you wish to write privately to Sue, please email the Development Office at [email protected], who will be pleased to ensure your correspondence reaches her.
