The Girls’ Division community came together to donate a huge collection of food and goods to local charity Urban Outreach at Harvest time. The whole of the Senior School and Sixth Form processed through the Great Hall to drop off their donations prior to the Harvest Celebration on Wednesday morning, accompanied by organ music.
All of the products generously given by the girls and their families were displayed on the stage behind the speakers throughout the assembly, which was streamed live to the school community on Zoom.
The Harvest celebration was led by Mrs Field, the Girls’ Division Head of Middle School, and five Year 7 pupils. These girls shared the things they are grateful for, including being back in school in person and seeing friends and family once more after the challenges of Covid lockdowns. They also explained some of the work that Urban Outreach does to help struggling families in the Bolton area, and thanked everyone for bringing in their Harvest donations.
Mrs Field led the school prayer, reminding everyone that ‘much is required of those to whom much is given’, before the Accidentals performed the Harvest hymn ‘We Plough the Fields and Scatter’.
Organ music at the start and end of the assembly and accompanying the Accidentals was provided by two Girls’ Division Sixth Form students.
