Bolton School Old Girl Sheila Fisher née Platt (Class of 1970) will deliver the inaugural Platt Fisher Lecture entitled 'Learning from Living' on Monday 25th April at 7pm.
Life is an adventure to be lived to the full - that was the spirit of the 60s superwoman who could have it all. From Victorian village primary to Bolton School, shy girl to surgeon and mum, Sheila lived through triumphs and disasters. She believes we all share common ground as we find our path and her lecture will address: What matters most in our lives? What was it like to live and work in a career dominated by men? What has she learned - to live your dreams, endure the hard times and, above all, see if you can make a difference for good in the world.
The lecture, which is open to the general public, will take place in the Girls’ Division Great Hall and will be live-streamed.
