Christmas Post Supports Anastasia Days

Senior Girls Charity

The annual Christmas Post sees girls in Year 10 at Bolton School Girls’ Division put on a show to encourage the rest of the school to visit their stalls to buy sweets and treats, post Christmas cards and order telegrams or sing-a-grams, all raising money for charity. This friendly competition between the forms sees the girls raise hundreds of pounds at Christmas time.

This year, the girls decided to support Anastasia Days: a charity set up by the Costello family in memory of their daughter, Year 7 pupil Anastasia Costello, who sadly passed away last year.

The Year 10 forms had created individual short films promoting their stalls, which were shown to the whole school in a special Christmas Post assembly. Each film was packed with pop culture references, including TikTok trends, the World Cup, and a host of television programmes from ‘The Great British Bake Off’ and ‘I’m A Celebrity’ to ‘Googlebox’. The girls dressed up as all kinds of famous faces and the Great Hall was filled with peals of laughter as caricatures of Liz Truss, Boris Johnson and Matt Hancock were seen rubbing shoulders with Gemma Collins, Ant and Dec, Dick and Dom, Harry Styles, The Rock – and of course Santa and his elves and reindeer!

Following the Christmas Post assembly, the Year 10 girls set up their stalls at break and lunchtimes. Their sweet sales and delivery services raised a total of £2,121.93 for Anastasia Days!

The money allow the charity to arrange memorable and fun days out for children in the North of England who have encountered illness, abuse, bereavement or other significant trauma.
