December has been a busy and festive month across the Primary Division at Bolton School! It all began with a very special visit at the Nursery: two reindeer flew in to meet the children.
Meanwhile, at Beech House, the Infants and Pre-School Class were hard at work putting the final touches to their Nativity performances. The children put on a show for audiences of parents and family members in the last two weeks of term. Everyone did a wonderful job learning lines, lyrics and dance moves to tell their version of the Christmas story.
The Junior Boys and Junior Girls both held their Christmas performances in the Girls’ Division Great Hall, watched over by paper angels.
The Junior Boys’ Carol Service was a very special evening, from the solo opening of ‘Once in Royal David’s City’ to the rousing finale ‘O Come All Ye Faithful’, sung by the massed voices of the Junior Boys and the audience. The boys offered thoughtful readings and the choirs performed carols and Christmas songs. The whole school also sang together for their audience, as well as inviting them to join in with traditional carols.
The Junior Girls presented ‘Hosanna Rock!’ as their Christmas Concert. This uplifting combination of readings, recitations and songs told the Christmas story, beginning with the whole school singing ‘Little Drummer Boy’. The programme also featured the Year 3 girls dancing as sheep and stars, the Italian carol ‘Dormi Dormi’, the whole school singing and dancing to ‘Unto Us A Child Is Born’, and of course ‘Hosanna Rock!’ as the finale.
All of the Primary Division Christmas performances are now available to watch again:
