Rahima Isaak and her younger brother, Yusuf, have raised £1200 for the earthquake disaster appeal in Turkey and Syria. Both are Bolton School pupils: 10 year old Rahima in the Junior Girls’ School and 6 year old Yusuf at Beech House, the School’s Infant School.
The pair’s mother, Maryam said: ‘Both my children attend madrassa, which is an Islamic school after school. At madrassa they were given a task to raise money for charity for the earthquake in Turkey. They were told whoever raises the most money will win and be acknowledged with a signatory certificate by one of the many famous people of Manchester. Both were very keen to try and win and they managed to raise money by asking family and friends. It was a brilliant achievement for them and they were delighted to win the competition.’
