The whole of Year 7 at Bolton School Girls’ Division has been busy raising funds to buy toys for the annual Bolton Lions’ Christmas Toy Appeal. Pupils raised £2,530 through a sponsored silence day in early December - a red letter day in teachers’ diary too!
It was then down to representatives from Year 7, along with Sixth Form helpers, to visit Smyths' toy shop at Middlebrook to purchase a range of gifts for all ages, from babies to teenagers. This year’s haul included a Playstation and Nintento Switches! They also needed an extra minibus to bring the toy haul back to school, where Bolton Lions’ members picked them up. The toys will go to families across the region who are struggling this Christmas.
Other Girls’ Division year groups, Foundation Services and a number of Old Girls also donated a significant number of toys to the appeal.
