The Junior Boys put on a wonderful Christmas Carol Service, which was held as usual in the Boys’ Division Great Hall. From the stunning first-verse solo of ‘Once in Royal David’s City’ to the spectacular closing notes of ‘O Come, All Ye Faithful’, the audience was whisked away on a journey of carols and readings.
The boys were in fine voice, with performances from the Lower School and Upper School Choirs and from the whole Junior Boys’ School. The programme for the evening included all boys singing the first verse of ‘Silent Night’ in Chinese, as has become a Park Road tradition in recent years.
The music was interspersed with readings, both from the gospel and from Christmas poems and stories, with the messages all ably delivered by the readers.
After the closing prayer, shared by Head of Primary Division Mrs Faulkner, a retiring collection was held in support of Young Minds, a charity which fights for young people’s mental health.
