The U15s’ lacrosse team at Bolton School Girls’ Division has become the Northern Schools’ Champions having won last weekend’s tournament held at Moreton Hall School in Shropshire. In doing so, they maintain their unbeaten run in the Tournament since they began as a team in Senior School.
Coach Ms Donaghy said: ‘They had a very competitive day in some challenging weather conditions! The girls began the tournament strongly, beating Harrogate Ladies College and Queen Margaret’s School 10-0 and 11-0 respectively. Following on from the first couple of matches, their competition became progressively more difficult as they faced Birkenhead School, Moreton Hall and Withington Girls’ School. All their matches were extremely competitive from start to finish; however, Bolton School remained solid in defence and strong in attack, to overcome their opponents. We finished the day undefeated and were crowned Champions of the Northern Schools’ Tournament. The U15 Team have won all of their Northern Tournaments since starting lacrosse in Year 7, which is a fantastic achievement!’
The team comprised: Emma Arnison, Anna Brennand, Francesca Dewhurst, Gabriella Giambattista-Hunt, Lily-Grace Greer, Molly Grimshaw, Maya Guhathakurta, Charlotte Harris, Alexia Howarth (Captain), Pip Nuttall, Gabrielle Read and Sienna White.
