Bolton School Girls’ Division U13 football team has been declared winners of the Bolton Schools’ Football Tournament, which has run over three consecutive Thursday evenings in the Spring Term.
PE Teacher Ms Farrimond-Goff said: ‘The competition saw eleven schools taking part from across the borough. We are delighted for the girls - it is a magnificent result and a testament to the team’s hard work over the season.’
Congratulations to the team, which comprised: Zara Plano, Lily Stanway, Georgia Clarkson, Molly Neville, Pippa Critchley, Bella Shannon, Daisy-Lee Strange, Aleeza Hassan, Abigail Carr, Happy Yoak and Sasha Bartalotta.
Football is now firmly embedded in the PE curriculum and is delivered to Y7-Y11 pupils. Football Club for Y7-9 girls takes place twice a week at lunchtime and is regularly attended by over 30 pupils. The club is run by Ms Farrimond-Goff along with 'new signing' former Bolton Wanderers' player Nicky Hunt, whose expertise and enthusiasm have been invaluable; he has been highly appreciated by girls and staff alike.
