Wednesday 8 December is a date teachers at Bolton School Girls’ Division won’t forget in a hurry as the whole of Year 7 – some 128 girls - went silent for the day as they raised awareness and money for Centrepoint Manchester, a charity which helps young homeless people aged 16-25 years.
Head of Year 7 Mrs Judy Holliday said: ‘We were really impressed with how well the girls engaged with this fundraiser. No doubt it was not easy for them! They were allowed to use their iPads to communicate with their teacher and I think my colleagues quite enjoyed things that way – at least for a day! I am delighted to announce that they have raised over £2000.’
