Syed is Poetry Competition Winner

Year 5 pupil Syed Mehdi has been named one of the winners of the Kids’ Poetry Club ‘Fun In The Sun’ competition! The competition received over 1,000 entries from around the world, but Syed’s poem ‘Cricket Cricket Cricket’ was one of eight winners chosen in the Age 9-10 category.

In addition to writing his poem, Syed also recorded himself reading the poem to be included in the Kids’ Poetry Club podcast. He was featured in the episode ‘The Big Splash’ on 24 October, and Syed’s class was delighted to listen to the episode in one of their English lessons.

Syed received a certificate commemorating his win. His poem was included on the winner’s page on the Kids’ Poetry Club website and celebrated along with all the other winners in another special podcast episode at the end of November.

He was encouraged to join the competition by his family, who are very proud of his achievement.
