Corbyn Murray, a pupil at Bolton School Junior Boys’ School, enjoyed a great footballing experience over Easter as he took part in a European knockout tournament in Tuscany, Italy with Man United. The Y5 boy was one of the youngest selected in a mixed Year 5 and 6 team, which played Empoli, Sassuolo, Torcy and Academy Massa before their successful run ended when they lost in the quarter finals to Ajax 2-0.
Corbyn started playing football when he was five years old and was first picked up by Liverpool and was also offered contracts with Blackburn and Everton. He has recently been playing in central midfield for Man Utd. His father Scott Murray said: “He is a very powerful striker of the ball and really enjoys it at Utd, the boys get on well together and the club treat the kids really well in a relaxed environment to help them flourish. I was delighted to see him score some amazing goals at the weekend against Villa and Blackburn, one from the halfway line of a 7-a-side pitch!”
