Aaryan Nayyar, a Year 4 pupil at Bolton School’s Junior Boys’ School, has been demonstrating his karting skills as he puts in the practise ahead of next year’s LGM and British Championships.
In his latest weekend race at PF International at Grantham, Aaryan showed excellent pace on the Saturday club race, which left him 13th out of 24 drivers on lap time. Sunday was a mix of results in two heats, Aaryan’s engine not performing as well as it should have resulted in him having to start 22nd for the final race. However, he had still worked his way up to 12th place by the second lap, only for the race to be red flagged by an accident. The 12 minute break interfered with Aaryan’s rhythm and he ended up recording a 17th place finish.
Aaryan’s father, Rav, said:
Aaryan is racing against children in a mixed age range from 8-12 years old and is usually one of the least experienced and youngest on the grid. He has only been in the sport for 11 months whilst most drivers have at least 4 years of racing experience and often come from a family with some kind of racing background. We are optimistic that Aaryan will push on now this winter to become better and ready himself for the two big competitions next year.
